Welcome, you have taken the initial step by looking for help for yourself or a loved one's drug and/or alcohol substance use disorder (addiction) and we know the past several months, years have been extremely difficult and at times seemed hopeless. You are not alone in this situation and we are here to help try and put an end to the countless number of times life seemed unmanageable to you.
Our approach at Joshua Tree Residential Detox & Recovery is a fairly unique concept in helping to break the cycle of addiction. The inpatient treatment program where one enters into the rehabilitation centre is not unlike other treatment programs widely available, it is however, our outpatient treatment program option that is unique to Joshua Tree RDR and the clients we treat in the Toronto and greater area, that we are highly regarded for and referred to by various medical specialists and past clientele who finally found success in achieving sobriety through our unique outpatient treatment program, sometimes after many, many prior attempts with other programs out there which saw them fail time after time.
Traditionally the only options available for treatment have been either entering a rehab facility which can come with a hefty price tag and a lack of privacy, or attending a 12 Step program by oneself. At Joshua Tree Residential Detox & Recovery we saw a need for another option to help those struggling with an addiction that did not feel the above choices were right for them, with the above said, we certainly can arrange for you or your loved one to enter into an inpatient rehabilitation program if this is the option you are looking for.
In many cases however, our outpatient treatment program which focuses on us coming to you where we can support and treat you in the comfort and privacy of your own home and be there during the initial period of medical detoxing from the drug(s) and/or alcohol, as much as 24hrs a day if necessary and then tailoring a recovery treatment plan specific to each individual needs so they are given the absolute best opportunity to obtain and maintain their sobriety.

Initially the patient will speak one on one with a medical doctor specializing in addiction treatment who can prescribe whatever medication(s) are necessary in order to minimize, or eliminate entirely any initial withdrawal symptoms one may experience, of course these vary based on the substance one is detoxing from, and therefore it is imperative for this stage to be overseen by a medical doctor.
During the next phase the doctor and patient will discuss the options available to help prevent any relapse, again this can depend on what the drug/substance was that the client was abusing and for how long the addiction was present. Replacement therapy for Opiates is one example of what may be used in the individualized treatment plan that is prepared for the patient by the medical team.
Once the medical component has been addressed and there are no residual withdrawals being experienced by the patient, the therapy & counselling phase which has been specifically tailored for the individual's needs, can commence and will vary in duration based on the treatment plan that has been developed for the individual suffering with the addiction.
There is no doubt in our approach to recovery that a personal support system be in place wherever possible to bolster any long term success. In many instances meeting with a therapist can prove to be a very beneficial part of the recovery process ensuring that success is long-term, not short lived! Regular support meetings can often help both the individual and their immediate family find comfort during the initial period as everyone's life will see a dramatic change once the addiction is halted and acclimating to this new phase can be difficult not only for the patient but their family as well.
The key is for us to know the individual and their circumstances in detail so we can tailor a plan that gives them the best chance at success as no one person is the same as another and here no one addiction is the same as another.
This will be a journey and a challenging one at that, however with the proper medical care, counselling and addiction specific approach we utilize at Joshua Tree Residential Detox & Recovery, getting sober and returning to "Living Life" and no longer just existing day to day is a very realistic and attainable goal.
